The village of Brooklyn grew at its present location as a result of the coming of the railway. The whole of the village, in terms of its origin and the timing of its commencement, it is in fact, a Federation Villageā€. The book explores the development of the village and in this second edition Tom adds further details of the construction of the Hawkesbury rail bridge and the development of the locality as a whole  and early oyster and fishing industry.
